Increased turnover in hotels and restaurants

After the downturn in 2009, turnover has increased for the hotels. Total turnover rose two per cent to NOK 19.6 billion in 2010. The restaurants had a turnover of NOK 26.4 billion over the same period.

The 2 786 enterprises in accommodation employed 26 202 persons in 2010; marginally fewer than the previous year. Turnover grew by 2.5 per cent to NOK 21.7 billion in 2010.

Food and beverage service activities employed 59 984 persons in 2010. Turnover grew by four per cent to NOK 35.3 billion over the same period.

Preliminary figures

Preliminary figures for structural business statistics are only published for enterprises at the industry group level, and with fewer variables than for final figures. Final figures are normally published 18 months after the end of the reference period.
