Economic Survey 1-2016

The Norwegian economy is currently in a clear cyclical downturn which, according to our projections, will continue in 2016. In 2015, mainland GDP increased by only 1.0 per cent, the weakest growth since the financial crisis depressed growth in 2009.

We expect the sharp fall in oil investments now will be curbed. Increased public spending, lag effects of the krone depreciation, lower interest rates and gradually improving international economic conditions, signals a somewhat higher growth.
