Increased investments next year

Total investments in oil and gas activities for 2006, including pipeline transportation, are now estimated at NOK 92.8 billion. This is an increase of NOK 14.5 billion compared with the previous quarter. The sharp increase is mostly due to very high estimates for exploration and fields on stream, higher investment costs for the terminal project Melkøya and projects that have been postponed to 2006.

Exploration and fields on stream are now estimated at NOK 12.2 and 37.2 respectively.

Lower estimates for 2005

Total investments in oil and gas activities for 2005, including pipeline transportation, are estimated at NOK 87,1 billion. This is a decrease of NOK 1.5 billion compared with the previous quarter, but NOK 15.2 billion more than the investment estimate for 2004 given in the 4th quarter 2004.

Investments for exploration activity in 2005 are estimated at NOK 7.1 billion. Compared with the corresponding estimate for 2004, given in the 4th quarter 2004, the 2005 estimate is NOK 3.1 billion higher. The estimate is NOK 0.7 billion lower than the estimation for 2005 given in the 3rd quarter 2005.

Investments for field development and fields on stream are now estimated at NOK 51.7 billion. This is a decrease of NOK 1.1 billion compared with the previous quarter and NOK 6.8 billion higher than the corresponding estimate given for 2004.

Onshore activities and pipeline transportation are estimated at NOK 17.9 and 10.5 billion respectively.

Higher estimates for 2006

The total investments for 2006 are now estimated at NOK 92.8 billion. This is an increase of NOK 14.5 billion compared with the previous quarter. The estimate is NOK 3.3 billion higher than the corresponding figure for 2005 given in the 4th quarter 2005.

Investments for exploration activity in 2006 are estimated at NOK 12.2 billion. This is NOK 2.7 billion higher than the estimate given in the previous quarter. Compared with the corresponding estimate for 2005, given in the 4th quarter 2004, the 2006 estimate is NOK 3.2 billion higher.

Investments for field development and fields on stream are now estimated at NOK 53.1 billion. This is NOK 6.2 billion higher than the estimate given in the previous quarter.

Onshore activities are estimated at NOK 15.6 billion - NOK 5.0 billion higher than the estimate given in the previous quarter. The sharp increase is mostly due to higher investments costs for the terminal project Melkøya.

Pipeline transportation are estimated at NOK 5.7 billion.
