Employment continues to rise

Employment increased by about 60,000 jobs last year and the number of unemployed dropped by around 9,000, the latest Labour Force Survey (LFS) carried out by Statistics Norway shows. There were 117,000 persons without jobs in first quarter 1996, accounting for 5.3 percent of the labour force.
