National accounts, revised 1993-1995:
Lower than expected GDP growth in 1995
The gross domestic product grew by 3.3 percent from 1994 to 1995,
measured in fixed prices. This is 0.4 percentage points lower than what was
presented in the first estimates for 1995 in February this year, according the
revised national accounts figures for 1993-1995.
The reason for the revision is due to several factors. Among other things,
new information on fourth quarter 1995 has been incorporated. Moreover, revised
figures for 1993 were incorporated as a new basis for the calculations. The
estimates for manufacturing and private and public services have been adjusted
downwards, and GDP growth for mainland Norway has been estimated at 2.7
percent, 0.6 percentage points lower than the estimates in February.
