Akershus and Oslo
Municipalities that have changed regions after changing counties are included in the county and region to which they belonged in the statistical year. This means e.g. that the municipalities 0121 Rømskog (-2019), 0532 Jevnaker (-2019), 0533 Lunner (-2019), 0628 Røyken (-2019) and 0628 Hurum (-2019) are included in the county Akershus and the region Oslo and Akershus in 2024, but other counties and the region Eastern Norway n.e.c in 2018 and previous years.

This includes Vestland (formerly Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane) and Møre og Romsdal.
Trøndelag
Discontinued municipalities 1567 Rindal (-2018) and 1571 Halsa (-2019) are included in Trøndelag from and including 2023, previously in the region Vestlandet and the county Møre og Romsdal.
