A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Student households and children below the age of 18 years who are living alone, are excluded. Figures have been corrected. Data are missing for 0821 Bø in 2006. Figures for 2020 were corrected on September 2, 2022. Salary compensation for those who are temporarily laid off ('lønnskompensasjon') was included twice in the calculation of total income, and thus figures for total income were about 7 billion NOK too high. See list over changes in regional classifications (in Norwegian).

Gini coefficient

The Gini coefficient is a number between 0 and 1 that measures the degree of inequality in the distribution of earnings, where 0 corresponds with perfect equality and 1 corresponds with perfect inequality.

P90/P10

P90/P10 refers to the percintile ratio of the 9th and the 1st decile cut-offs.
