In 2007 Helse Sør RHF and Helse Øst RHF are merged to form Helse Sør-Øst RHF. From 2011 figures for activity in mental health care (out-patient consultations, bed-days, discharges and day-care) is extracted from the Norwegian Patient Register. This leads to breaks in time series and the numbers will not be directly comparable with previous years. From 2015 figures for activity in multidisciplinary specialist substance abuse treatment (out-patient consultations, bed-days, discharges and day-care) is extracted from the Norwegian Patient Register. This leads to breaks in time series and the numbers will not be directly comparable with previous years. In 2009-2014 healthy newborns were included. In 2015 the numbers for private institutions with government mandate are included in the numbers for the health regions. Other private institutions are presented as 'private institutions'. Previously, several private institutions were included in the numbers for the health regions, and less institutions were presented as 'private institutions'. The affected variables cannot be compared with previous years. As of 2018, outpatient consultations from contracted medical specialists are included in the figures. The introduction of a new registration system in mental health care and multidisciplinary specialist substance abuse treatment means that the number of consultations for 2018 is not directly comparable with previous years. As of 2020, discharges for mental health care and drug treatment (TSB) are mainly defined as discharges from grouped by (health) enterprise. Previously, discharges were defined as discharges from grouped by treatment site. This means that internal transfers within the enterprise are now not included in the discharge figures.
