Producer price index at 15 June 1997:

Price of crude oil drops again


Norway's producer price index increased by a total of 0.1 per cent from May to June. From June last year to June this year (the 12-month growth rate) the index rose 2.0 per cent, after a 1.6 per cent rise in May. Industrial producer prices rose by 0.3 per cent from May to June.
The oil production and mining index fell by 1.9 per cent from May to June, after rising 3.8 per cent from April to May. The 12-month growth rate was 11.8 per cent in June, down from 11 per cent in May. The average price of Brent Blend crude oil in June was almost $18 per barrel, a decrease of 6.5 per cent from the previous month. Calculated in Norwegian kroner the June price was about NOK 129 based on the average exchange rate for the month.
