Fuels increase most last month

Norway's price index for domestic first-hand sales of goods rose 0.5 per cent from August to September. A strong increase in fuel prices was the major factor behind the change. From September last year to September this year (the 12-month growth rate) the index rose 1.7 per cent, the same as in August.

The group fuels, fuel oil and electricity climbed 2.5 per cent from August to September as the result of higher prices for crude oil and refined products. Food rose 0.2 per cent during the same period. Other groups showed only small or no change from the previous month.
