Higher sales of heating fuels



Sales of heating fuels in Norway increased substantially between January and August. So far this year, 582 million litres of domestic heating oil have been sold, 18.1 per cent more than during the same period last year. The increase was the largest in Aust-Agder, Oslo and Buskerud, with respectively 47.8, 38.3 and 29.5 per cent.

Sales of heating kerosene increased during the same period with 11.2 per cent and heavy fuel oils by 14.8 per cent. Excluding sales of bunker fuel, the sale of heavy fuel oils has increased by 47.6 per cent. Sales of heavy distillates have also increased, rising 23 per cent. So far this year, 6,147 million litres of petroleum products have been sold, up 7.6 per cent compared to the same period last year. Sales of oil products excluding bunker fuel have risen 8.3 per cent, while bunker oil sales show a decline of 1.1 per cent.

Over the past 12-month period a total of 9,127 million litres of petroleum products have been sold, up 5.8 per cent compared to the previous 12-month period.
