Higher sales of heating products in first half of 1996

Sales of petroleum products totaled 4,591 million liters in the first half of the year, preliminary figures show. This is 8.4 percent more than the same period last year. Sales of heavy fuel oil increased the most.

So far this year sales of heavy fuel oil have risen 18.9 percent compared to the same period last year, despite lower sales of bunkers. In the first six months turnover increased 44.3 percent, while sales of heavy oil sold as bunkers declined 7.5 percent. Sales of light heating oil and heating kerosene increased during this period by respectively 17 and 9 percent.
