Increasing transport work

In 2006, the total production by rail comprised 3.4 billion tonnes-kilometres and 2.8 billion passenger kilometres on Norwegian territory, an increase from 2005 of six per cent and four per cent respectively.

Almost 56 million passengers travelled by railway on Norwegian territory in 2006. 25 million tonnes were transported this year. While the number of passengers increased by four per cent in 2006, there was no change in the tonnes transported.
