More goods across the border by lorry

Nearly 3.3 million tonnes were carried by lorries in and out of the country in the first quarter of 2012. This is a little over 13 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2011.

Norwegian lorries had 42.6 per cent of the transport that crossed the border in the 1st quarter of this year; almost the same as they had in the corresponding quarter last year. Swedish and Finnish lorries’ share of border transport to and from Norway fell slightly, while the Danish, Polish, German and Baltic lorries’ share went up.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border on road. Imports and exports by lorry on ferries are not included.
