Less on Norwegian lorries

During the third quarter of 2011, nearly 3 million tonnes of goods were transported across the border. This is 2.5 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2010. The market share of the Norwegian-registered lorries is still down.

Even though the market share of the Norwegian-registered lorries in connection with import and export fell by 2.7 percentage points in the third quarter compared to the same quarter last year, they are still dominant with a share of shipments in and out of the country of 41.1 per cent. Both Polish lorries and lorries from the Baltic countries increased their market share in the third quarter, to 9.7 per cent of the total. The Swedish registered lorries increased their market share to 29.1 per cent, which is 1 percentage point more than in the third quarter of 2010.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border by road. Import and export by lorry by ferry are not included.
