Less across the border by Norwegian lorries

The total amount of goods transported across the border during this years’ second quarter was 90 000 tonnes more than in the corresponding quarter last year. Norwegian lorries accounted for 42.1 per cent of the border transport. This is 2 percentage points less than in the second quarter of 2010.

A total of 3.2 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries crossing the border on road during the second quarter of 2011.This is 2.8 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter last year. The border transport by Norwegian lorries on the other hand, was down 1.9 per cent. The Polish lorries transported less across the Norwegian border during this period as well. The largest percentual increase in tonnage carried across the border was by Danish and German lorries.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border by road. Import and export by lorry by ferry is not included.
