More goods on foreign lorries

During the third quarter of 2010, 8.2 per cent more goods were transported by road across the border than in the corresponding quarter of 2009. Norwegian lorries accounted for 43.8 per cent of this transport; 2.6 percentage points less than in the same quarter last year.

A total of 2.9 million tonnes of goods were carried across the border in the third quarter of 2010, of which 1.3 million tonnes were on Norwegian lorries. Swedish lorries carried out 28.1 per cent of the border transport; 1.3 percentage points more than in the corresponding quarter last year, and Baltic lorries increased their share by 0.9 percentage points to 4.5 per cent.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border by road. Import and export by lorry by ferry is not included.
