Less border transport by Swedish lorries

Out of all goods passing the national border by lorry during the first quarter of this year, 28.8 per cent were carried on Swedish lorries, down by 1.6 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2007. Transport by Finnish lorries also dropped.

A total of 3 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorry across the border in the first three months of the year, 1.7 per cent more than in the corresponding three months last year. Norwegian lorries accounted for 46.7 per cent of this transport, against 46.4 per cent in the same quarter last year.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border on road. Import and export by lorry on ferry are not included.
