ICT projects improve government services

Sixty-six per cent of the central government reports that the quality of their services improved due to investments in ICT projects in the last two years. Lack of resources has prevented development in digital services.

Investments in ICT projects resulted in better services for the central government’s users. Sixty-six per cent of the central government reports that the projects have improved the quality of the services to a large degree , and 53 per cent that they have developed new services. Nearly half of the central government reports improvements in their work routines, and 60 per cent reports improvements in the ICT infrastructure.

Only 4 per cent of the central government reports that the ICT projects have resulted in reduced numbers of staff, and 21 per cent do not feel that staff reductions are a relevant gain from the projects.

Developing digital services requires more resources

Half of the central government reports that they are having difficulties releasing resources to develop digital services, and 22 per cent that they are lacking the right skills. Half of the central government tried to recruit ICT staff, and 45 per cent of them had difficulties with the recruitment.

Phishing attempts

Almost 30 per cent of the central government has experienced phishing attempts during the last year. 21 per cent reported that they do not know if they have had this IT security problem during the period. Half of the central government has installed programs to identify phishing attempts.

High share of “Unknown”Open and readClose

In some areas there is a relatively high share of “unknown”, which might be due to the fact that parts of the central government buy external ICT services.
