Region means founder's region. Figures for last year are preliminary, and are based on estimates. The preliminary figures have a higher uncertainty than the final figures, indicated by upper and lower 95% confidence limits. Det er inntil videre ikke beregnet foreløpige tall for region, grunnet regionreformene i 2020 og 2024.
A founder interest is the founding of one enterprise by one founder, either alone or together with other founders. A founder may have more than one founder interest during the measurement period. All tables are currently offered with a limited number of cross-referenced variables, pending an assessment related to the protection of sensitive information. Founders with multiple founder interests during the year are distributed according to the characteristics of the founded enterprises with an equal fraction. Enterprises are counted as new the year they are registered, whether they started up with activity this year or not.

1 January 2020 the municipalities 1141 Finnøy and 1142 Rennesøy were incorporated in 1103 Stavanger.

15 Møre og Romsdal

1 January 2019, the municipality 1567 Rindal was moved from Møre og Romsdal to Trøndelag. 1 January 2020, the municipality 1571 Halsa was moved from Møre og Romsdal to Trøndelag. 1 January 2020, the municipality 1444 Hornindal was moved from Sogn og Fjordane to Møre og Romsdal.

50 Trøndelag - Trööndelage

1 January 2019, the municipality 1567 Rindal was moved from Møre og Romsdal to Trøndelag. 1 January 2020, the municipality 1571 Halsa was moved from Møre og Romsdal to Trøndelag.

5001 Trondheim - Tråante

1 January 2020 the municipality 5030 Klæbu was incorporated in 5001 Trondheim.

18 Nordland - Nordlánnda

1 January 2020, the municipality 1852 Tjeldsund was moved from Nordland to Troms og Finnmark.

21 Svalbard

Svalbard is not defined as a county in the legal sense, but in official statistics Svalbard is treated in the same way as the other counties in Norway.

level of education

Upper secondary education (level 3-5)

Upper secondary education includes intermediate level courses based on completed upper secondary level, but which are not accredited as tertiary education.

Tertial education, 4 years or less (level 6)

Tertiary education, short comprises higher education up to 4 years in duration.

Tertial education, more than 4 years (level 7-8)

Tertiary education, long comprises higher education more than 4 years in duration.
