The table shows the prevalence of initial caries among 3-, 5-, 12-, 15-, and 18-year-olds who have been examined and treated in the public dental health service.

Initial caries is defined as the early, beginning changes in the tooth enamel caused by the caries process, before a visible hole or cavity has formed in the tooth.
