A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.
Navigating with keyboard and screenreader. Select multiple object in row: SHIFT+arrow down/up. To select a single value in the listbox: Windows:Hold Ctrl + arrow down. Then release Ctrl and press space. Repeat. Mac:CMD+arrow down/up. Then release CMD and press spacebar. Repeat. (Works only in Chrome, not in Safari). The figure for commodity group 04.2.1.0 'Imputed rental payments of owner-occupiers for their main residence (S)' was corrected on 25/03/2024. The correction involves a change in consumption expenditure for group 04 '04 Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels', as well as the statistical variable 'share of total consumption expenditure' in all tables.

commodity and service group

On sub-group and commodity group level a code is attached to the text, meaning services (S), non-durables (ND), semi-durables (SD) or durables (D).

income per consumption unit

Consumption units (EU-scale) have been calculated by giving the first adult in household a value of 1.0, 0.5 for any additional adult (older than 16), and 0.3 for each child.
