The lending margin is the difference between the lending rate and the money market rate NIBOR (effective 3 months) at the end of the month, the deposit margin is the difference between the banks' deposit rate and NIBOR, the interest margin is the difference between the lending and deposit rates. Data for lending, deposit and interest margins back to the fourth quarter of 1979 can be found in table 07045 closed table 07045 for series starting in 1979.

From 2018 building loans are included in credit lines and total loans secured on dwellings.
