Diffusionindex

A diffusion index is compiled using the estimated percentages on 'up' and 'same' according to the formula: (up + 0,5 * same) after adjustments for non-response. The diffusionindex has a turning point at 50. A common way of interpreting an index value of 50 is to say that half the respondents has had an increase while the other a fall. An increasing index at or above 50 indicates that the growthrate is increasing, while a falling index above 50 indicates a falling rate of growth. Opposite for an index below 50.

Balance

Balance = the difference between estimated precentages on 'up' and 'down'.
