0.6 per cent decrease in manufacturing
Preliminary figures for total labour costs in manufacturing show a 0.6 per cent decrease from the second quarter of 2016 to the third quarter of 2016. The index showed a 1.4 per cent increase from the third quarter of 2015.

The index for oil and gas extraction and mining showed a 2.7 per cent decrease in total labour costs for the third quarter. In comparison construction had an increase of 1.0 per cent and wholesale and retail trade showed an increase of 1.3 per cent.
