CPI up 1.6 per cent last 12 months

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.6 per cent from August 2018 to August 2019, while the CPI-ATE growth was 2.1 per cent in the same period.

Price increase on natural gas

A reduction in the price of crude oil of almost 5 per cent decreased the producer price index (PPI) slightly from July to August, but with a sharp increase in the price of natural gas, the drop in the total index was minimal.

The steady growth in mainland GDP continues

Growth in gross domestic product (GDP) for mainland Norway was 0.9 per cent in May to July compared with February to April. Monthly growth from June to July was 1.0 per cent.
