Maltreatment in close relations

Maltreatment in close relations: Included in ‘Offences of violence’. Maltreatment in close relations covers severe or repeated maltreatment by threats, coercion, deprivation of liberty, violence or other violent offences, and includes maltreatment both with and without physical violence. Until 1 October 2015, the statistics and the penal code used the definition ‘maltreatment within family relations’, which in the penal code of 2005 is broadened to also include ‘maltreatment in close relations’. See the Penal Code of 2005 sections 282-283.
