For persons in the source data with a registered national identity number, place of residence is determined from the Central Population Registry. For persons without a national identity number, the information from the police registries is used (see About the statistics). Thus, the population with a registered place of residence is therefore somewhat bigger in these statistics than for example in the statistics on Population.
