Prosecution conditionally dropped

Even if the prosecution authority can prove guilt in a criminal case, prosecution may be conditionally dropped if there are prevailing reasons not to go forward with prosecution. The discharge can be made conditional by that the person charged is given a probation with certain conditions. (se the Criminal Procedure Act ยง 69). In 2012, 43 per cent of all prosecutions conditionally dropped were given persons aged 15-17 years.
