Unaccompanied juvenile asylum seekers

Unaccompanied juvenile asylum seekers: Children and youth under the age of 18 who come to Norway without a parent or other care-giver. An asylum-seeker who arrives in Norway without a parent is offered a place at a care centre or reception centre while their application is being processed.

Bufetat is responsible for the service provided to unaccompanied asylum-seekers under the age of 15. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) is responsible for unaccompanied asylum-seekers aged 15–18 on arrival.
