Excluding families of other or unknown type. From 1987, after break in time serial, are cohabitant couples with common children considered as a separately type of family. From 2001 are number of all cohabitant couples considered as a separately type of family. Thus the categories mother with children, father with children and single will be reduced, at the same time as also other family types are influenced. .
Irrespective to the age of the children.
In the years 1987 to 1997 only cohabitant couples with common children are included. In more recent years, all cohabitant couples, both with and without children, are included.
Persons who are registered as living alone. Untill 2001 the group also includes cohabitant couples with no common children, as such relations did not appear in the statistics at the time. Likewise will the person of the cohabitation who is not the biological parent of the child/children be regarded as single.
Figures from the population census. In 1960 and 1970 are families in institutional households and families without a permanent residence included in order to make the census figures comparable with the current family statistics.
