Tax statistics, 1997. Average figures for personal taxpayers:

Assessed taxes increase NOK 3,000 per inhabitant


In 1997, residents of Norway were assessed NOK 38,200 in taxes, a NOK 3,000 increase from the previous year. The highest assessed taxes per resident were found in Oslo and Akershus, with NOK 51,900 and NOK 48,800 respectively. Finnmark and Nord-Trøndelag had the lowest, with NOK 26,200 and 29,800 respectively.
Among local governments (municipalities), Bærum and Asker have the highest assessed taxes per inhabitant, with NOK 60,700 and 57,300 respectively. By comparison, Kåfjord and Guovdageaidnu-Kautokeino have NOK 17,500 and 17,600 per inhabitant.

Highest income in Oslo

Ordinary income per inhabitant in 1997 totalled NOK 117,000 on a national basis, but there are wide differences among the counties. In Oslo and Akershus ordinary income was NOK 153,300 and 140,200 respectively per inhabitant, while the corresponding figures for Nord-Trøndelag and Nordland were NOK 96,300and 99,300 respectively. Nord-Trøndelag also showed an 8.9 per cent change from the year before, one of the largest in the country, while Nordland was among the lowest, with a 7 per cent change.

Lowest assets inn Finnmark

Residents of Finnmark had an average net worth of NOK 73,500 in 1997. The highest net worth is found in Oslo and Akershus with NOK 182,300 and 150,100 per inhabitant. Oslo is the county in which net worth per inhabitant increased the most from the year before.
