Crude oil gives trade surplus major boost
Norway's surplus in commodities trading with other countries totalled NOK
6.9 billion in March, up NOK 1.7 billion or 33 percent from March 1995. Exports
totalled NOK 25.7 billion, of which exports of crude oil and natural gas
accounted for NOK 11.8 billion, according to the preliminary figures for
external trade in commodities in March.
Exports of traditional commodities totalled NOK 13.9 billion in March,
while Norway imported NOK 18.7 billion worth of goods. The deficit in
traditional commodities therefore came to NOK 4.8 billion, one billion more
compared to March last year.
