1  Tax on consumption is 9.3 øre/kWh in 2002 and was 11.3 øre/kWh in 2001, VAT is 24 per cent in 2002 and was 24 per cent in 2001. See table 5 for taxes further back in time. Tax on consumption is not levied in Finnmark and some municipalities in Nord-Troms. Manufacturing, mining and greenhouses are also exempt, from 2001 this only holds for electric energy used in the production prosess. Nordland, Troms and Finnmark do not pay VAT. The price in this column is the average for the entire country. To find the average price including taxes for areas not exempted from taxes, add the consumption tax to the average price. Subsequently add VAT to this total.
