The Norwegian Tax Administration - StatRes

The Norwegian Tax Administration comprises the Directorate of Taxes and tax offices, which are organized into five regions. The main tasks are determination of tax on income and wealth, employer's National Insurance contributions, inheritance tax and value added tax on sales. In addition, the Tax Administration is responsible for keeping the National Population Register in Norway up-to-date. The collection of taxes is split between The Tax Administration and the municipal tax collectors. The statistics include only the Tax Administration’s portion of this work.

Input

A presentation of the indicators for resource input is given below, measured in NOK and in man-years. Own production is the sum of wage costs and purchases of goods and services. Man-years are defined as contracted man-years adjusted for long term leaves.

Activities and services

The Tax Administration's activities and services are related to taxes for individuals and for companies, VAT on sales and inheritance tax. Furthermore, the statistics show the management of the National Population Register together with various registrations.
