The Norwegian Armed Forces - StatRes

The Norwegian Armed Forces is the largest agency subordinate to the Ministry of Defence. The Norwegian Armed Forces consists of the Defence Staff (FST), the Norwegian Army, the Royal Norwegian Navy, the Royal Norwegian Air Force and the Home Guard. Norway’s defence organisation is structured to be as relevant and effective as possible as an instrument for the achievement of the national security policy objectives. This page presents indicators for the Agency’s input, activities and services in addition to outcomes.

Input

In StatRes, input is measured in NOK and man-years. Own production (NOK) is based on accounting data, and is the sum of compensation of employees and use of goods and services. Man-years is defined as contacted man-years adjusted for long-term leaves. Further indicators for input can be found in the StatBank.

Activities and services

The Norwegian Armed Forces carries out various types of activities and services. Data regarding activities in the Army and the Home Guard are dispalyed in the panel below. Figures for 2005 for the Home Guard can not be identified due to large readjustments. Aviation activities are presented further below, followed by sailing activity in the Coast Squadron and the Coast Guard respectively. Finally, the number of ispections in the Coast Guard are presented.
