Slight decline in retail sales

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales decreased by 0.5 per cent from December last year to January this year. Most of the industries had a decline this period.

From January last year to January this year, the non-adjusted volume index including and excluding petrol stations both showed the same increase, of 0.2 per cent.

From January 2009 to January 2010, the value index including and excluding petrol stations rose by 3.0 and 1.9 per cent respectively.
