Statistics on new orders. Manufacturing, 4th quarter 2011

Export market pulls down

New orders in the manufacturing industry fell further from the third quarter of 2011 to the fourth quarter of 2011, after a decline in the export market.

New orders in the manufacturing industry were down by 10 per cent from the third quarter of 2011 to the fourth of 2011, and by 3 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2010. The negative tendency from the third quarter of 2011 continued. Unfilled orders were down by 4 per cent from the third quarter of 2011 to the fourth quarter of 2011.

The reduction in new orders applied to the negative development in the export market (also see the Business tendency survey for the fourth quarter of 2011). The domestic market reported a growth from the third quarter of 2011 to the fourth quarter of 2011. The change in new orders in manufacturing varies from industry to industry.
