The causes of death time series are based on ICD's main chapters and diagnosis
groups based on the European abridged list. The causes of death were classified
according to the Norwegian version of the International Statistical Classification of
Diseases and Related Health Problems, 9th revision (ICD-9), for the year 1995.
The causes of death were classified according to the International Statistical
Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems of 1990, 10th revision for
the years 1996-2006.
