Turnover in retail trade up 2.9 per cent

The turnover in retail sales was almost NOK 387 billion in the first ten months of 2016; an increase of 2.9 per cent from the same period in 2015.

By comparison, the index of retail sales showed an increase of 2.6 per cent during the same period. The turnover in online shopping saw a 14.1 per cent increase. In September and October (5th period), retail sales had a turnover of NOK 79 billion; an increase of 1.9 per cent from the 5th period in 2015.

Increase in trade and repair of motor vehicles

Sales and repair of motor vehicles totalled NOK 204 billion in the first ten months of 2016; a growth of 9.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2015. In the fifth period, the sales and repair of motor vehicles increased by 8.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2015.

Wholesale of NOK 749 billion

The turnover in wholesale was NOK 749 billion during the first ten months of 2016; an increase of 4.9 per cent from 2015. In the fifth period, the wholesale turnover was 2.3 per cent more than the same period in 2015.
