Decline in retail sales

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales decreased by 0.4 percent from December 2017 to January 2018. This follows a decrease of 1.0 percent from November to December.

The long-term trend in retail sales has shown a relatively stable increase since autumn 2016.

Working-day adjusted figures show that retail sales increased by 3.4 per cent in the period November 2017-January 2018 compared to the same period in 2016-2017.
