Norwegians aged 16–79 took 1.6 million outbound trips with at least one overnight stay during the 4th quarter of 2016; a decrease of 5 per cent compared with the 4th quarter of 2015.

Calculation of sample uncertainty in 4th quarterOpen and readClose

The travel survey is carried out among 2 000 Norwegians between 16 and 79 years of age. A new sample is drawn every quarter.

The uncertainty calculated with 95 per cent certainty for the 4th quarter of 2016 is:

  • Number of trips: Published value NOK 4.1 million. Interval: NOK 3.7 million to 4.4 million
  • Guest nights: Published NOK 17.8 million. Interval: NOK 17.0 million to 18.7 million
  • Tourist expenditure: Published value NOK 27.6 billion. Interval: NOK 24.4 billion to NOK 30.7 billion
