Upper secondary education

Upper secondary education includes intermediate level courses based on completed upper secondary level, but which are not accredited as tertiary education.

Upper secondary education

If a person has completed both vocational and general education at upper secondary level, vocational education is retained over general education, even if it has been taken at a later date. This is done on the basis of fixed criteria for how a person who has completed several educations at the same level is categorized in the statistics on the Educational attainment for the population.
