Direct seasonal adjustment is applied to each time series. Totals and corresponding sub-aggregates are adjusted on an individual basis and this affects consistency between the totals and the sum of sub-aggregates. Figures during the pandemic are specified as outliers. This means that the smoothed seasonally adjusted and seasonal adjusted figures follow each other from March 2020 onwards. In the last observation, the smoothed adjusted figure is only a projected value. Seasonally adjusted figures for camping sites, holiday dwellings and youth hostels are only published from May 2019 at county level for reasons of confidentiality. This also affects total figures at county level in this period.
