Total number of persons and the percentage share of persons with low income can be found in table 12599. Figures for 2020 were corrected on September 2, 2022. Salary compensation for those who are temporarily laid off ('lønnskompensasjon') was included twice in the calculation of total income, and thus figures for total income were about 7 billion NOK too high. 07.02.2023: The table is corrected for 2021. Applies to recipients of minimum state pensions, recipients of minimum old-age pension and minimum disability benefits.

Receivers of disability benefit

From 2015 and on, disability benefit is taxed after the same rules as income from work. Before 2015, this group was called 'Receivers of Disability pension', and disability pension was taxed as pension.

Single pensioners, receivers of the minimum state pension

Living alone and recipient of the minimum old-age pension or the minimum guaranteed disability benefit.

Single old-age pensioners, receivers of the minimum state pension

People in households where the main income earner is a receiver of old-age pension.

Long-term unemployed

People in households where the main income earner has been continuously unemployed for 6 months or more

Receivers of work assessment allowance

Before 2010, this includes people in households where the main income earner was registered with longstanding illness. Included are people in receipt of rehabilitation allowances, persons incapable of full employment but parttaking in labour market schemes, and others.

People on social assistance

People in households where the main income earner has received social assistance during the year

Long-time recievers of social assistance

Persons having recieved social assistance for at least 6 months of the year.

In 2016, the registered receiving period for some of the long term receivers of social assistance in Oslo were too short, which makes the numbers not directly comparable with the years before and after.

Immigrants from EU, etc.
