In 2007 Helse Sør RHF and Helse Øst RHF are merged to form Helse Sør-Øst RHF. From 2011 figures for activity in mental health care (out-patient consultations, bed-days, discharges and day-care) is extracted from the Norwegian Patient Register. This leads to breaks in time series and the numbers will not be directly comparable with previous years. As of 2018, outpatient consultations from contracted medical specialists are included in the figures. The introduction of a new registration system in mental health care and multidisciplinary specialist substance abuse treatment means that the number of consultations for 2018 is not directly comparable with previous years.
