A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Including only passengers who enter as well as leave any means of transport in Norway. Taxis etc. are included in taxis until 1980. Drivers are included in the calculations. Figures for total passenger transport, Road transport, Rental cars etc. and Motorcycles, mopeds for 2022 and 2020 were corrected on the 9th of August 2023.

Other regular service

Revised figures for 2007-2016 were published 26 September 2018 (see About the statistics). The passenger-kilometre figures for 2015-2017 were adjusted on 24 September 2019 due to changes in the underlying statistics.

Scheduled bus transport

The figures for passengers and passenger-kilometres for 2015-2018 were adjusted on 16 September 2020 due to changes in the underlying statistics.

Domestic air transport

Created as a separate category in the statistics 26 September 2018 with figures starting from 2007. Prior to 2007, the air transport figures only cover domestic trips (see About the statistics).

Flights between national airports as part of international journeys

Created as a separate category in the statistics 26 September 2018 with figures starting from 2007. Prior to 2007, air transport between Norwegian airports as part of a foreign journey is not included in the air transport figures (see About the statistics).
