Slight increase in river catch of salmon
In 2011, the total river catch of salmon, sea trout and migratory char amounted to 445 tonnes. This is 7 tonnes, or 2 per cent, more than in 2010. In addition, 68 tonnes of fish were caught and released.

Value of catch almost NOK 16 billion
Norwegian vessels delivered 2.3 million tonnes of fish, crustaceans and molluscs in 2011, down 15 per cent compared with 2010. The landed value amounted to NOK 15.9 billion, up 19 per cent from 2010.

The total catch of wild salmon and sea trout in the Norwegian fjords amounted to slightly more than 300 tonnes in 2011. This is 37 tonnes, or 14 per cent, more than in 2010.

Sales generate NOK 30 billion
The final aquaculture figures show 2010 to be a record-breaking sales year in Norwegian fish farming. The first-hand value for reared fish reached NOK 30.7 billion, with a corresponding quantity of one billion tonnes.
