Moderate price changes in construction costs

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent from January to February this year. Labour costs rose by 0.5 per cent, while material costs increased by 0.1 per cent in the same period.

Wage statistics for the fourth quarter of 2012 are included in the construction costs of February 2013, and are the main reason for the cost increase from January.

From February 2012 to February 2013, the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses rose by 3.1 and 3.0 per cent respectively.
