About Svetlana Badina
Svetlana Bad(y)ina came from the Far Eastern Region of Russia where between 1992-1997 she studied at the Khabarovsk State Academy of Economy and Law for Diploma Degree in Economics (with distinction) and then later between 1997-2000 at the Far Eastern Academy of Public Service for Diploma Degree in Law. Between 1997 and 2005 she was a full-time junior researcher in the Far Eastern Department of Russian Academy of Sciences ( http://www.ecrin.ru/ ) and finished her Candidate of Science (Russian equivalent of Doctor of Philosophy Degree) in Economics over this time. She continued her position at the Academy until 2005. Recipient of the three Certificates of distinction on the Young Economists Competition of the first and second conferences for the Young Economists in Economic Research Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences and of the first conference for the Young Economists in China. She has also exellent teaching experience (in russian) in the background.
In 2005 she joined Statistical Bureau in Norway and currently works with statistical methods (construction of composite indicators, multivatiate analysis, survey sampling). She has two sons. She likes to travel and to became known with other cultures. She likes music and plays the piano.
